  <dc:description>Life size statue of Dr. Robert Graves (1796-1853) by Albert Bruce-Joy (1842-1924).  White statuary marble figure, standing, wearing an academic gown and holding a manuscript.  Signed A. Bruce Joy and dated 1877.  Pedestal inscribed "ROBERT JAMES GRAVES, M.D./PRESIDENT/OF THE/KING AND QUEEN'S COLLEGE/OF PHYSICIANS/IN IRELAND/MDCCCXLIII."  Graves was an early describer of the eponymous autoimmune condition Graves' disease and was President of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland from 1843 to 1845.  Unveiled by the Duke of Marlborough, 19th December 1877.</dc:description>
