White statuary marble figure, standing, wearing an academic gown, with hands at the front, one placed over the other.  Signed J.H. Foley and dated London, 1874.  Pedestal inscribed "WILLIAM STOKES. M.D./PRESIDENT/OF THE/KING AND QUEEN'S COLLEGE/OF PHYSICIANS/IN IRELAND/MDCCCXLIX".  Stokes was President from 1849 to 1851 and again in 1866 to 1867.</dc:description>
