  <dc:description>Toothbrush set believed to have belonged to Napoleon.  Contains:  (1) toothbrush with silver handle and animal hair bristles set in a piece of ivory, maker's mark "IT" for Joseph Taylor and hallmarked Birmingham, 1804.  Possibly also a French import mark; (2) tooth powder case with two separate compartments, lids hinged at the centre.  Same markings as the toothbrush; (3) double rounded-ended [silver] utensil, possibly for mixing the powder; (4) red Morocco leather case, in two parts, both embossed with a fleur-de-lis.</dc:description>
