The Inquiry held in May 1937 centred on the proposed abolition of the position of Pathologist held by Dr John Hackett Pollock. The 1944 investigation into alleged malpractices centred on the following matters: fees payable by students and patients to Christopher Joseph McSweeney, Medical Superintendent; expenditure by the Fever Hospital Board on exterior painting of the Hospital buildings, including the Nurses' Home; the condition of the roof of the Stores; the inspection of grounds and out-buildings by the Visiting Sub-Committee; scales of salary for nursing staff; overtime to certain medical staff; food costs; use of the hospital laboratory; petrol supplies and associated issues of its cost pertaining to the Medical Superintendent; the dismissal of gate lodge keepers; the resignation of Dr William John Roche, Resident Medical Officer; and a suggested change in the internal general management of the hospital. 1932-1947
