The Guild of St. Luke The Guild of St. Luke, or Corporation of Apothecaries, was established by a Royal Charter granted by George II in 1747, the result of several years campaigning by the Dublin apothecaries and a considerable expenditure of money. The Guild was governed by a Master, two Wardens and thirteen assistance, who met quarterly. They had the power to hold elections, administer oaths, make by-laws, prescribe fees for admission and fine those who broke the Guild's rules. From 1791 the Guild of St. Luke co-existed with the Apothecaries' Hall of Ireland, the surviving records of the Guild end in 1854 This section contains the Royal Charter, the minute books of the Guild and a roll of membership. 1747-1854
