| Admin/Biog History | Robert Freyhan (1901-1982) was a German art historian with an interest in Medieval illustrations. From 1930, he worked at the Prussian Research Institute for Art History in Marburg. However, due to his outspoken criticism of National Socialism, he was eventually forced to resign and left Germany to settle in England in 1933. While in London, he worked for some time at the Courtauld Institute. He had become acquainted with Oppé who attempted to help him find work. |
